چکیده

A particle-dynamics simulation is a tool for investigating nonequilibrium phenomena accompanied with hydrodynamic, thermodynamic motions, and even with phase transitions. In this article, several applications of the particledynamics simulation and a new computational method of particle dynamics are reported.

A Theoretical Framework for Multiple-Polymorph Particle Precipitation in Highly Supersaturated Systems

An overarching mathematical framework is proposed to describe entire mineral particle precipitation processes including multiple polymorphic forms and ranges of temperatures. While existing models portray individual physical phenomena, the presented approach incorporates a diverse set of the physical phenomena simultaneously within a single mathematical description. The liquid and solid phase d...

Renormalization Group: Applications in Statistical Physics

These notes aim to provide a concise pedagogical introduction to some important applications of the renormalization group in statistical physics. After briefly reviewing the scaling approach and Ginzburg–Landau theory for critical phenomena near continuous phase transitions in thermal equilibrium, Wilson’s momentum shell renormalization group method is presented, and the critical exponents for ...

Influence of Interface Thermal Resistance on Relaxation Dynamics of Metal-Dielectric Nanocomposite Materials under Ultrafast Pulse Laser Excitation

Nanocomposite materials, including noble metal nanoparticles embedded in a dielectric host medium, are interesting because of their optical properties linked to surface plasmon resonance phenomena. For studding of nonlinear optical properties and/or energy transfer process, these materials may be excited by ultrashort pulse laser with a temporal width varying from some femtoseconds to some hund...

Bridging Scales by Using Discrete-particles in Modeling Complex Fluids

Macroscopic phenomena can couple together with microscopic events creating complex feedback dynamics. When the changes in the microscale involved by macroscopic behavior : 1. can be modeled by downscaling of the macroscopic models, 2. follow assumed constitutive relations, 3. do not violate the assumptions of mass, momenta and energy continuity, then the continuum model can be regarded as a cro...

Rate of convergence to equilibrium for interacting particle systems via coupling and concentration

We present a new approach to estimate the relaxation speed to equilibrium of interacting particle systems. It is based on concentration inequalities and coupling. We illustrate our approach in a variety of examples for which we obtain several new results with short and non technical proofs. These examples include the symmetric and asymmetric exclusion process and high-temperature spin-flip dyna...
